About Us The Townstal Community Partnership gives residents a direct voice to the agencies who together with residents and other partners agencies will help to address issues that are causing difficulties to residents..The main issues that were identified at a community listening event in April 09 is the starting point for the Townstal Community Partnership and copies of the report ‘Listening to Townstal’ are available from the TCP Back in June 2009 at the public meeting residents were nominated to roles on the partnership and together with representatives from all the major agencies who work with and for Townstal. The Townstal Community Partnership hold a drop in office in the community hall EVERY WEDNESDAY from 10am til 2pm and hold open public meetings on the 4th Monday of every month(excluding August and December) at the community hall, all residents are welcome to come and have a say on local issues or to raise a neighbourhood particular issue that is troubling you. These meeting are at 7pm and children are welcome Already the Townstal Community Partnership has to already achieved so much since starting up in 2009 ACHIEVEMENTS TO DATE: • Securing £45,000 for the refurbishment of local park and working with school children and the local council to design. • Introduced successful monthly community bingo • Resolved residents issues or guided them in the right direction • First ever Townstal festive gathering with over 200 attending • Invited onto Board of Children’s services (COMG meetings) • Showcased at Devon Police Neighbourhood police training day in Exeter • Presentation to Local Strategic Partnership – community vibrancy • Introduced South Hams connect service into Townstal • Free legal and benefits advice surgery for all residents
• Being part of citizenship lessons at Dartmouth Community College
• One of the 3 pilots sites in HELP DH project
• Selected as the ‘making a difference locally’ good cause for 2010
• Awarded £750 for training from the PCT
Successfully started a work club We have representitives from Tor Homes, Guinness Hermitage, South Hams District Council, Devon County Council, Devon Primary Care Trust, Devon & Cornwall Police, Fire Service, local schools, Devon Youth Service, Children’s Trust, Dartmouth Children’s Centre and the list will grow So come along and meet some of your representatives for the local public services and see what the TCP is all about.
